To mark the 25th anniversary of DKMS Peter Schmidt, Belliero & Zandée were asked to create the global design re-launch. DKMS global brands needed to be united under one roof. Now there is one global logo which is separated by the tagline in local languages. Apart from the redesign of the logo PSBZ also created a friendly, human and capable design to support the brand idea of donating stem cells. Thus focusing on the ultimate goal to have more blood cancer survivors.
The history of DKMS begins in 1991, at that time, there were only 3.000 potential stem cell donors available to provide a transplant in Germany. After Dr. Peter Harf founded DKMS Germany within just one year the number of stem cell donors increased to 68.000 – today there are 6.567.818 potential donors.
